Pregnancy Test Strips

by: PREGMATE

PREGMATE Pregnancy Tests measure the levels of the pregnancy hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) in your urine. This hormone is produced by the cells of the embryo that will later form the placenta. The level of HCG starts to increase from its basal level of less than 5 mIU/mL directly after implantation and doubles about each 48 hours during the first weeks of pregnancy.

Directions:

  1. Immerse the strip into the urine.
  2. Take the strip out after 3 seconds.
  3. Lay the strip flat.
  4. Read results in 5 minutes.

    How To Read Results?

POSITIVE (Pregnant): Two color bands appear in the Control and Test Zones. It indicates that you are pregnant. The color intensity of the test bands may vary since different stages of pregnancy have different concentrations of HCG. The hormone level increases as your pregnancy progresses. If the results reveal a faint test line, there is a strong possibility that you're pregnant. If HCG is present in your urine, you'll have a positive test result.

NEGATIVE (Not Pregnant): Only one color band appears in the Control Zone. No apparent band in the Test Zone. This indicates that no pregnancy has been detected.

CAUTION: Although you may not be pregnant, it could also be too early to tell. For instance, your urine may not have enough of the HCG hormone to be detected yet. If you do not get your period within 7 days, retest with another pregnancy test. If you receive another Not Pregnant result and your period still hasn’t started, call your healthcare professional.

INVALID: No visible band at all or there is a visible band only in the test region and not in the control zone.

    FAQ:

When to collect urine for the test? Any urine specimen is appropriate for pregnancy testing, but the first morning urine specimen is optimal because of its highest concentration of HCG.

Can test results be interpreted after more than 5 minutes? No. Test results must be read at 5 minutes. Though a positive result should not  change  for several days, a negative result may change to a false positive within minutes after the end of the testing period, which would not be an accurate reading. It is always best to read the results at the 5 minute testing period and then discard the test to avoid confusion.

There is much difference between the control lines of two tests. Is this a concern? No. Variations in the color of the control band will not affect the test result.

A pink background color and vertical streaking appeared in the result area during the testing period. Is this a concern? No. Each urine sample will vary in its chemical makeup, as will the humidity of the air in testing chamber (room). Such variations  in physical conditions can cause the vertical streaking and/or the pink-rose background color but will  not affect the test results. As long as the control band appears within 5 minutes, the test is working properly.

    These strips are the best!

I recommend these tests to all my friends and people I run into online who are trying to convince! They are wider than the usual internet dip sticks and don't tend to leave an indent/evaporation mark. They are super fast and don't get too streaky like other tests I've tried. The price is on point as well! They come with a little pamphlet with instructions that are easy to understand and follow.
Overall, Pregmate tests have become my new favorite tests and I will continue to use and recommend them!
